There is bread — and then there is Polonia Bakery Sourdough. Crafted in the USA by Polonia Bakery using a cherished polish family recipe and a sourdough starter that has been lovingly maintained and fed for over 25 years, this exceptional artisan loaf is in a class entirely its own. Weighing approximately 1.8–2lbs, this is a bread that tells a story in every slice — deep, complex, and tangy from the long fermentation process, with a beautifully open, chewy crumb and a golden, crackling crust that fills the room with an aroma that is simply irresistible.
A 25-year-old starter is not just an ingredient — it is a living legacy. Over decades of careful feeding and nurturing, the wild yeasts and beneficial bacteria in Polonia Bakery’s starter have developed a unique microbial community that produces a depth of flavor, a complexity of tang, and a texture that no commercial yeast bread can ever replicate. This is the same starter that has been the heart of the bakery’s sourdough tradition from the very beginning, passed down and preserved as a testament to the family’s commitment to authentic artisan baking.
