Dawtona Red Borscht (Barszcz Czerwony) is a ready-to-eat beetroot soup, made in Poland from 100% Polish red beets. It has the deep red colour and sweet-and-sour taste of traditional borscht, and it needs very little preparation. It contains no MSG, no preservatives and no coloring.
Heat it and serve it as a starter or light meal, or serve it with uszka (small mushroom dumplings), pierogi, croquettes or boiled potatoes. Add a spoonful of sour cream, fresh dill or a boiled egg to finish. It’s a classic on the Polish Christmas Eve table, and it’s good all year round. The 1 L pack serves 4 portions.
